Chapes & Belt Hardware

Here are the chape designs I currently offer. Of course, the final look may vary depending on the size and shape of the sword. A basic chape (style A or B) is included in the base price of $650. The rest of the designs are an additional $15. I can also add a spiral fluting design to the ball tip for an additional $25.

I also offer buckle/strap end plates, as well as strap connector plates (usually made to match the chape design).

Buckle plate/strap end- $25

Set of connector plates- $25

Note: I currently ONLY work with brass.

Belt & Suspension Options

Medieval "X" style interlaced belt.

Most popular on early-high medieval arming swords, but also suitable for

hand-and-a-half or longswords.

This style of belt usually causes the sword to hang slightly more vertical than a 45 degree angle. For this belt I use 1.5" wide straps.

Also available in a single strap reverse "Z" style.

Buckle-less early medieval style strap also available.

Two sword knot/single buckle style belt

Most popular with hand-and-a-half swords and longswords, but will also work with arming swords. This style belt causes the sword to hang at a more or less 45 degree angle. For this belt I use 5/8" wide straps.

Two sword knot/two buckle belt system

Ideal for bigger longswords or greatswords, but will work for almost any sword. This style of belt causes the sword to hang lower on the hip, at a more horizontal angle.
