About Me

My name is Andy Sunda and I'm an artist, teacher, and sword enthusiast living in central Kentucky. I've been actively taking scabbard commissions since 2021, and have made scabbards for clients all over the world, including Europe, Australia, Canada, and Singapore.

My professional background is in art education, and I currently teach middle school art. This experience has provided me with skills ranging from painting to woodworking, leather craft, and metalsmithing. Since 2021, I have poured all of these skills into making beautiful, and functional, scabbards.

All of my scabbards are made completely by hand, and each one is unique (although I do sometimes re-use patterns I really like). Every scabbard consists of a felt lined wood core, wrapped in thin, veg-tan leather, and includes some kind of belt or suspension.
I live on a farm with my wife, our cats, and our large herd of cows. In addition to making scabbards, I am also an passionate sword collector, and keep a small but high quality collection of both reproductions and antiques.
